The Impaired Physician

Every state has regulations against impaired physicians. The key is if you get yourself in a program recognized by your state BEFORE you hurt anyone! Read that sentence carefully. There are really two parts:

  1. A recognized rehabilitation program by your state and
  2. Prior to your hurting ANYONE- a patient or someone as a result of driving while impaired.

If you take these steps to help yourself, you can protect your license to practice medicine. Same advice to DMDs, DDSs, DPMs, PTs, LPT, PAs, NPs, RNs, LPNs, etc. Navigate this with the help of a competent health care attorney. Do not wait until it is too late. Do not destroy your life, your family’s life or a patient’s life.
